SUPERGEN (SUPER IEBGENER) allows selective copying of records from sequential datasets with a limited facility to change the records during the copy operation. It may also be used to produce hex dumps of data similar to the IDCAMS PRINT function.
It is located in File #40 of the CBT tape and is contributed by Peoples National Bank of Washington.
Peoples National Bank also included user documentation for all the utilities they submitted in CBT File 40. I have included an Adobe PDF document containing the pages relevant to SUPERGEN in the installation archive.
I have extracted the Assembler source for SUPERGEN and the three required subroutines from the CBT tape. Using the linking instructions provided I put together a single jobstream - supergen - contained in the archive supergen.tgz [MD5: 3EA98835EAFBB5F4225ADA521BEC9906] to assemble and link SUPERGEN. Download the archive and extract the jobstream (WinZip on Windows/?? or tar on Linux). Submit the jobstream to assemble and link the single load module for SUPERGEN into SYS2.LINKLIB. If you don't have SYS2.LINKLIB defined, you will need to modify the jobstream to specify a target load library.
Follow the directions in the SUPERGEN documentation in the included Adobe PDF to create one or more jobstreams to utilize the utility, or try executing it from TSO if you have TSO operational.
I hope that you have found my instructions useful. If you have questions that I can answer to help expand upon my explanations and examples shown here, please don't hesitate to send them to me:
